A new series of the Welsh language motorsport show Ralïo+ will return to S4C this week. Emyr Penlan is back to present the tension, adrenaline, crashes, thrills and spills on Thursday nights, including some of Greenlight TV’s coverage of the Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship. Emyr joins fellow motoring enthusiasts Lowri Morgan, Wyn Gruffydd, Howard Davies and Martin John in the series from Thursday 29 July at 21:30. "The smell of petrol and burning tyres, being among the supporters come rain or shine, the excitement and thrill of the action, the buzz of a speeding car driving past you, home or away – that’s the appeal of motorsports for me," says Emyr. "Whatever the weather, wherever the competition – there is a great following at rallies and other motorsport events. The fans are great and everyone is friends with everyone. The support is 100% to the sport and it’s a real social event where old friends come together in support of the drivers and competitors." A fifty one year old Welshman is one of the contenders in the Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship after the opening four rounds. Gwyndaf Evans from Dinas Mawddwy currently stands in second place. "The last time Gwyndaf won the championship was in 1996," says Emyr. "He stands a good chance of winning the title this year if he can hold his nerve and keep consistent. It’s remarkable how he’s beating young competitors in their new cars." Ralïo+ |
