RALLYING HISTORY/BIOG: Before Jack made the move to rallying he was a successful motocross rider but injury saw Jacks motocross career come to an end.
Jack decided to move to rallying after it was suggested to him by his father Mick that he should have a go in rally car so they went to the Chris Birkbeck Rally School for a day where the instructors were so impressed with Jacks performance it was soon decided that he should try his hand at rallying.
A few months later Jack found himself entered into his first ever rally the Procters Coaches Riponian Stages where he and co-driver Alex Lee came home with a very impressive 28th overall & 2nd in class in what was testing conditions.
Soon after their impressive result on the Riponian Stages Jack and the rest of the team decided to sign up for the BRC Challenge and the Fiesta Sport Challenge, with Jack and co-drive Alex signing up for the championships they knew that they had a challenge ahead of them.
Though out the session Jack and Alex competed on all rounds of the BRC Challenge and the Fiesta Sport Challenge plus other events bringing home some very impressive results to help him well on his way to taking the championship at the end of the season.
Trackrod Rally Yorkshire was to be the penultimate round of the Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship but a few days before Rally Yorkshire it was announced that the Isle of Man Rally (The Manx) was cancelled so the famous Yorkshire forests became the final battle ground.
With Rally Yorkshire becoming the final round this meant Jack and Alex only had to finish the event to be crowned the BRC Challenge and Fiesta Sport Challenge Champions after battling all the elements of the Yorkshire forests the crew returned to Scarborough west pier triumphant.
After a trying year with a few up and downs Jack and Alex came though as worthy champions of the BRC Challenge and Fiesta Sport Challenge in only there first campaign together. Jack would like to thank RS Motorhomes, M-Sport, Damien Smith from Skipton Ford, Mark and Ed Bentley and Jamie Dobb for their support but the biggest thanks go’s to his dad who prepared and maintained the car on and off the stages.
